What is an indicator?
An indicator is a statistic you can measure and compare. A good indicator is relevant, able to be tracked, and shows change over time. An indicator represents more than itself; it serves as a signpost in a broader map.
The measures or indicators on this site relate to important themes/key areas that help us understand changes in gender equality. No one measure is a definitive indicator of equality between men and women. We’ve chosen to use a wider range of data to paint a broader picture of equality in the Yukon.
The site is not intended to provide a complete picture of women’s health, education or leadership. We know that gaps remain: in the available statistics, in the research, and in our knowledge. We hope this site will help identify those gaps and, perhaps, serve as a starting point for further research.
